The hypocrisy that governs society these days has a particular modus operandi: Censorship is the master in homes, schools, malls and just any place people frequent during the day. You are supposed to pretend you’re a righteous citizen who condemns any lack of control in every single area of life, while those who control the system unleash their fury against anyone who goes against their interests.
Hate is a universally preferred victim of censorship because compared to other emotions it’s more intense, sincere and difficult to tame. Hate isn’t more dangerous than other emotions like fear and even happiness; any feeling can cause harm depending on the way it is expressed. But hate has been demonized increasingly in the course of the last two centuries until people became so afraid of it they illegalized even its linguistic manifestations. It’s like they pretend to control universal hate by leaving it only to the military.
Evidently humanity has issues with conflict and anger. States and countries wage war against each other for undignified purposes such as wealth and enforcement of power, and antisocial groups bomb buildings and open fire in public places to make statements they never explain. Meanwhile, kids aren’t allowed to play Mortal Kombat or listen to heavy metal because “it’s too violent”.
The result of this massive repression is an increase in random outbursts of violence, both inwardly and outwardly. People need to fight, yell and even hit once in a while and if they are denied that right they will storage the feeling within them until something triggers it to come out: In that moment, the feelings are released at the same time resulting in an act of violence that will appear, and is, unhealthy in every sense. In the best case, the person becomes ill tempered and lets out small manifestations of anger every day, making life miserable for those close to him.
Unlike what some may think hate doesn’t need an outside object in order to exist and be expressed. Like any other emotion, it makes part of the human psyche as a natural instinct. This means hate has its own corner in our minds even if there is no one to direct it to, as it is known that the most real conflict lives within the individual. Some people have it to a higher degree than others, but we all have it whether we like it or not, and it’s beneficial to give it at least a small outlet and allow it to serve its purpose. Good ways of nourishing healthy hate are martial arts, boxing and of course, heavy metal.
Among the many emotions heavy metal music brilliantly explores, hate is one of the favored. There’s always a strong opposition to something that goes against the musician’s principles, and it is through the flame of hate that his statement comes alive and acquires the beauty needed for it to become art.
Hate in metal can be implicit as well: the musical composition can sound violent, and in this way things get more interesting. By listening to a hate song one can get cathartic images of destruction, fighting, explosions, weapons and war that release a good quantity of bellicose psychic energy and allows the listener to explore this otherwise ignored or repressed part of his mind.
Being in tune with one’s hate through music is a convenient weapon to kill inner monsters that could cause a disaster, and a healthy approach to violence can make the difference between a deranged criminal and a mighty warrior.

| ... it really pisses me off when some people say that hate, sadness and other feelings/emotions alike are negative; without them we would some sort of passionless beings. in my case i love being hated, i don't know why, but to know that really drives me to be more honest as a person (cynic for some people)and that leads to be a happier human being. | |

| ... so kinda random, my dad is a linguist, and one day I was stoned on an airplane and he just went off on where swearwords come from and how they affect the brain. So back when France invaded England (or Germany or something like that) they did a change on the language, speaking German rooted words was considered taboo, while speaking French rooted words was considered educated. So words like Inferno, Defecate, and Intercourse replaced Hell, Shit and Fuck etc. but whats strange is that these words have been stored in the more primitive part in our brain, where grunts and screams come from, you know, primal reflexes. you bang your knee you yell FUCK!!! So society has placed censorship on these words, because they are "dirty and uneducated" words. These words are only German rooted words that got stored in the primitive part in our brain because for so long we've been saying it's bad and taboo, when there's really nothing wrong with it, it's natural and we shouldn't censor that kind of thing. just a little side fact I thought you might want to know. | |
