So you are talking about band that somehow get lumped in with Metal, that really are not quite Metal but more something else with Metal influence? Suc

Steve L replied to the topic Re: how would you defend metal in the forums.
Well Miss Crabtree
You assumption that anyone must be on drugs is just as offensive as you declaring such bullying type statement towards a student in a public place. That is profiling Miss Crabtree, and profiling is wrong. Slandering me for my creed or beliefs systems is the gateway to such persecutions as the Inquisitions, Salem Witch trails, throwing all Christians to the Lions in Rome because some of them where caught baby raping, or even the Holocaust. Being that Metal is the the most working class representation in modern time that offers a Renaissance of Ideas, and elements of classical and baroque, I insist that I am allowed to pursue musical interests above pop without such narrow minded slander. I really though better of you Miss Crabtree, I hope you rise above that thinking and apologize at once.

Steve L replied to the topic Re: Removing Forums - Give me your input. in the forums.
Well
Open forum is nice for discovery of stuff outside variations of what we already like.
Groups can turn into grumpy oligarchies. I get self promo emails which is only cool if the sender wants some self promotion from me back.
So Id keep the Forums, for the lone wolves out there, or in here. Whichever the case may be.

As read in short story collection : Another Nightmare Gig from Hell , on Amazon for super cheap

Don't close any. The forum is amazing for new band discoveries and promotion, and groups are more like mini forums which concentrate on specific subject. I definitely see the purpose of both, although I agree that the forum is quite dead and could use some yellow emoticons
Or people, people would be nice as well.

Christopher replied to the topic Re: Is this forum dead? in the forums.
The forum could definitely use some people discussing things, though there are Groups in Community too... so it's people using one or the other.
I actually thought of closing Groups or the Forum, but I just left them both for people to choose from.
