They were formed in 1984 and they are still playing \m/ The thing that made Mayhem popular was the Death of Dead also know as Per Yngve Ohlin, because they used a picture of his corpse with his shotgun and his brain splatted. But it got illegal and soon the cover was removed. And also the Death of Euronymous also known as Øystein Årseth made them also famous, Count Grishnackh also know as Varg Vikernes, killed him and that got into the media, And then Black Metal got into something.$
