Announcements

Monday, 31 January 2011 by Chris

Threat Signal front man Jon Howard has checked in with the following announcement about working on a new album and band member lineup changes:

"A LOT happened in 2010 and it’s been a great year for us. So here is an update of where we are at, and where we are headed in 2011. First, I’d like to thank all of the crazy fans in Europe for supporting our first European tour. We had a blast playing for you in November/December and we hope to cross the pond again real soon to shred some faces!

"Second, I’d like to announce two new members of the Threat Signal camp. We destroyed Europe with these guys, and we couldn’t be more excited with the sound of the band right now and what the future holds together. Replacing Norm Killeen on drums is Alex Rudinger from Frederick MD, USA. I caught wind of Alex’s drumming through Youtube. He has a large number of drumming videos including covers, and originals. My jaw dropped when I first saw this kid play! Check it out at at this location.

"Replacing Adam Weber on guitar is Chris Feener from Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, Canada. Chris also has a ton of self recorded videos on youtube.com. I haven’t seen a guy shred like this in a long time! Have a look at this location.

"A BIG thank you to Norm and Adam for their hard work in Threat Signal over the years. It was a mutual decision between us all to part ways, and there are no hard feeling what so ever. We are still great friends. We shared some amazing times together and we will never forget that. We love you guys and wish you all the best.

"Lastly, we are currently writing our third album and plan to hit the studio sometime in the spring. We’ll keep you updated on our progress. All I can say for now is that the new material is heavier than anything we’ve done before! Get ready kids, TS is gonna tear you some new holes this year!"

Threat Signal was formed in the late summer of 2003 by cousins Jon and Rich Howard, who then added composer/guitarist Kyle McKnight. The trio then found drummer Adam Matthews in early 2004.

Threat Signal posted their song "Rational Eyes" on an international metal chart on GarageBand.com. After a few weeks, the song reached #1, and it has received many awards including best guitars, best drums, best male vocals, best production, song of the week, and song of the day.

In August 2004, Eric Papky, Kyle's former guitar teacher, joined the band on bass. Success on GarageBand.com sparked some early record label interest and helped create a following even before the band had ever played live. In August 2005 Marco Bresette replaced Eric Papky on bass guitar.

In July 2010 it was confirmed that Adam Weber had quit the band. Pat Kavanagh (bass, vocals) has issued the following statement:

“Adam has decided to leave us. He has some personal things he needs to work out and we wish him all the best. We’re still good friends and there’s plenty more beers that we’ll have together so no worries. I know this sucks to hear for a lot of you and I can list off a boat load of bands that have been through the same s*** we’ve been through. Just know it sucks hard on our side too. On a positive note we have a huge head start on the next record. Even have a few demos already! You’ll be hearing new s*** soon. So we hope to see you on the road with Soilwork, Mutiny Within and Kris Norris soon! Good times will be had by all!”

Ex-Darkest Hour guitarist Kris Norris filled in for Adam's absence
On September 13, 2010, The band posted an online statement that they have parted ways with drummer Norman Killeen. Both Adam and Norman were eventually replaced by drummer Alex Rüdinger and guitarist Chris Feener.
