Art of Dying is a Canadian rock band fronted by Jonny Hetherington.
The band has built an international following since 2006 touring with Seether and Disturbed as well as performing at international festivals such as Download and Virginfest alongside artists like Tool, Metallica and Deftones.
The self-titled album was released via iTunes and a US online retailer known as CD Baby, on February 3, 2007.
On 01 Nov 2006 The song "Get Through This" was used in a trailer to promote a podcast called "Port City P.D."
In October 2007, Thorny Bleeder Records released their debut album in Canada with distribution through Universal Music Canada and Conveyor Canada.
Art of Dying has been nominated for a 2009 CRMA (Canadian Radio Music Award) in the category of Best New Group. One of their songs, "Get Through This," had been selected as the theme song for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Pay-Per-View, Survivor Series (2009). The song was also used as the theme song for the second season of Canadian reality show, Making the Cut. It is also one of the official theme songs of WWE NXT
The band also says that they will discontinue production of hard copies of their first CD entitled "Art of Dying"
On December 1, 2009, it was announced that the band signed a record deal with Reprise Records and Intoxication Records, made by Disturbed members David Draiman and Dan Donegan.
The band finished recording their major label debut album with producer Howard Benson in LA and began mixing it with Chris Lord-Alge (Faktion, Stone Temple Pilots). The name of the album is "Vices and Virtues" and expected to be released in the fall. On September 27, the band revealed the first single from the "Vices and Virtues" album, "Die Trying", available on iTunes. The song has since entered the Active Rock Radio charts.
Art of Dying were confirmed to open for Disturbed's second North American leg of the Asylum Tour following the Uproar Festival along with Hail the Villain, but the leg had to be canceled due to David Draiman's throat condition.
"Die Trying" debuted at #36 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks for the week of January 29, 2011.
It has been announced on the festival's website that Art of Dying will be playing at Rock on the Range 2011 in Columbus, Ohio.
On the band's website, they have set "Vices and Virtues" release date as March 22 and posted the new track "Whole World's Crazy" on their Facebook page.
March 18th The Full Album streamed 5 days early on facebook.

Art of Dying will be releasing the new album "Vices and Virtues" on March 22nd, 2011. The band has now issued the following announcement about streaming the entire album online:
