"How can you die?..when you never lived!"

When i first heard that this thrash band was from the U.K., i was a little hesitant to take them seriously. Mainly because i'd never heard of a 'thrash metal' band from the U.K (I know quite a few now, but back then i was clueless. And anyway U.K. is not famous for thrash metal right)! Perhaps this was the reason for picking up this album as well, since i wanted to see what a thrash outfit from U.K. sounded like.

So I tried out the album...and it put a big smug smile across my face! Yeah it has its Metallica/Anthrax influences and all that; but the energy, riffs, adequate usage of harmonized guitars, and lyrics (Hell Yeah! some awesome lyrics in this album!), make up for the lack of originality. Another plus point is the production :  perfect for a thrash metal album. It has just the right amount of rawness, but at the same time it's rich (all instruments loud and clear! being a music nerd, i love that). Something that you find very rarely on underground thrash albums.

Now the songs : what can I say..I listened to the entire album from start to finish; and i din't get bored! m/ That's saying something because generally, with thrash albums, that's really hard to do (at least for me). All the songs here have a similar vibe, but each of them has memorable moments which makes it a very interesting and satisfying listen. For e.g., the haunting clean guitar breakdown in the middle of 'Reasons for Destruction', or the harmonized intro to 'Bad Blood', or THE ultimate line from 'Position of Security' : "How can you die..when you never lived?...How can you lie...and expect to forgive?" That line i simple love! And i can go on and on about every single track. That's how awesome the album is!

So basically what I'm trying to say here is : This album may not be a thrash metal masterpiece, but if you just care about a good, solid sounding, consistent album, then this album is really worth your time (also money! yeah!).  Firstly its going to look great on your CD rack because it's such a ridiculously rare album! So this might bring an aesthetic feel to you collection (i always get such a feeling when i buy a really really rare album). Secondly : I think this album is the best thrash metal output from the U.K!  B-)

Another thing : if anyone wants to get into thrash metal; I'd say this album is a really good place to start off with!

Peace.
