BIOG OF A METAL LABEL:

NIGHTMARE RECORDS was formed in 1990 by current AVIAN & KRUCIBLE vocalist Lance King known best for his vocal work with BALANCE OF POWER & PYRAMAZE.

Nightmare Records was born of LANCE KING’s efforts to get his First band GEMINI and their music out to the fans. By 1992 Nightmare had sold over 15,000 copies of Gemini’s first two albums!

This was Nightmare’s humble beginnings.... 
 
Along with the 1995 release of Lance’s new band THE KINGS MACHINE’s, debut album "A State of Mind", Lance decided to contact local musician friends in the Minneapolis & Saint Paul metal scene to help them get their music "out there", in doing so diversifying this little record company into more of a "Distribution center." This helped sales efforts for the label because there was more product for stores, and music distribution companies to get from Nightmare.... 
 
Shortly after in 1996 Lance set out to bring more releases to Nightmare in order to keep business solid year ’round, when the label wasn’t pushing a new release.  In 1997 this brought the birth of the Nightmare Records Internet store. Now 13 years later, the Label has made an International name for itself for releasing only the Highest quality Progressive and Power metal bands on their label, and having a large selection of the great Heavy Rock and Metal CD’s from around the world, these things and many more have made Nightmare a truly great one stop for online shoppers, stores and wholesalers to find the best in indie metal. 
 
Nineteen years and over two Million CD’s later, Nightmare remains one of the strongest upcoming Label/Distro in the Metal community!

In 2009 Nightmare will begin working with SILVERWOLF/SPV in Europe, this change for our newer releases will bring Nightmare to a more international status and is a great leap forward for the label.
