Metal LIVE
Manowar Kills in Cleveland, Ohio

March 12th, 2011 - Cleveland, Ohio
Manowar has been melting faces and exploding eardrums for over 30 years. Their two shows in Cleveland proved without a doubt that Manowar is still the most metal band alive. They truly exhibit the lifestyle of metal – Passion, pursuit of your dreams, and letting nothing get in the way of being the absolute best you can be in the way that you want to do it.
And how does Manowar want to do it?
As loud as they possibly can.
Whitechapel: Starland Ballroom
Wow where to begin with this simply amazing show! Well let's recap the adventure that was to become a memory of a lifetime....

My friend and I arrive to Starland Ballroom just in the knick of time to catch the first of four opening acts. Totally amazing!
Chelsea Grin put on an awesome, killer set playing "Lifeless", an amazing version of "Sonnett of the Wretched" and finally ending with "Recreant". When I tell you that 1700 bodies were in one giant most pit altogether, it was an amazing sight to see from the view at the bar since I was attempting to drown my body in as much ethanol as possible after the grueling long day I had in a bs corporate office.
After Chelsea played, Veil of Maya got on stage. OMG is all I can say. They killed it! Ripping and shredding through "Crawl Back" and "Unbreakable" I thought my mind was going to melt and explode. It must have been 120 degrees in the pit and the blood and sweat was flowing as ever! The bass drums had ripped through my soul like a speeding locomotive on a non stop ride to metal hell. The place erupted in one giant roar and a sign of the horns!
After Veil of Maya, The Acacia Strain took the stage. They were just as incredible if not better with their Vigo tapestry on stage they got us pumping one by one. Also for some comedic relief they asked everyone in the audience who smokes weed? Everyone roared in one giant hail and salute. Then Vincent goes and tells us, the audience, how the last time they were in NJ their drummer, Kevin, got busted for having bud in his car and spend the night in a New Jersey holding cell. He then told us to all roar, "Fuck You Kevin!". Was quite comical and funny to say the least.
Well then they started their set and what a set it was. Crowd surfers galore, and flying kicks and elbows were to be found everywhere. The place exploded in one giant orgasm of metalheads. It was one of the most intense and awesome pits ive been in. Plus I also came to the rescue of some chick who almost got killed from a crowdsurfer after getting kicked upside the head with a nice pair of metal toe Doc Martins. She dropped to the ground and I caught sight of her out of the corner of my eye so I pushed everyone out of my away, grabbed her, threw her up on my shoulder and passed her to security who was handling the flying bodies galore....
After Acacia came my band, Whitechapel...! Mother-Fucking Unreal! The double bass and guitar work was exemplory. They totally blew me away with their perfomance. Darkest Day of Man and Murder Sermon were my two favorite songs played in their set and are also my personal faves off there new album, New Era of Corruption. If you get the chance to see this awesome Dethcore band out of Memphis, see them! They will blow your metal mind and ears away TRUST ME!!
So to wrap up this concert simply.... If they visit your area, go and see them! It was by far one of the heaviest and most intense concerts ive been too in my 15 years of going to concerts and festivals. This show will leave you changed forever...
Metal is the law, the law is not metal...!!
